"As the protesters marched through the streets, it began to storm. Every time the thunder crashed, the protesters would cheer louder and louder. It seemed as if mother nature herself were cheering them on.."

We ain’t going away this time

Did they even MENTION this ON CNN?

The young lady wielding the megaphone is a POWERFUL spirit in this world. POWERFUL. I can’t say enough about her.

People seriously need to stop putting their photos of this stuff into black and white. It feeds the idea that all of this is stuff that happened in the past and that we’re beyond it now, in the good and progressive present day where nothing like this could ever happen again.

At a glance you could absolutely mistake one of these black and white photos as something from the 50s or 60s if you weren’t looking out for the clothes and cars, thank goodness all that was in the past, and move on.

We’re not beyond it. This shit is happening right now. Today.

The LITERAL point of the photos being in black and white is to show a connection between the past and present. The photos are for people to understand that this is still happening now instead of glorifying the past as is typically done. I understand you didn’t know that, so it’s okay. Don’t argue with me on this, I took the photos.

This is glorious and even thought it doesn’t fit in the range of all the paranormal & science, I MUST share

It works like this: You tell Kitestring that you’re in a dangerous place or situation, and give it a time frame of when to check in on you. If you don’t reply back when it checks your status, it’ll alert your emergency contacts with a custom message you set up.

It doesn’t require you to touch anything (like bSafe) or shake your phone (like Nirbhaya) to send the distress signal. Kitestring is smarter, because it doesn’t need an action to alert people, it needs inaction.

August 3rd 1936: Jesse Owens wins 100 metre dash

On this day in 1936 at the Berlin Olympics, American athlete Jesse Owens won the 100 metre dash, defeating world record holder Ralph Metcalfe. Owens won four gold medals, in the 100 metres, 200 metres, long jump, and 4x100 metre relay, which made him the most successful athlete in the 1936 Games. Germany’s Nazi Chancellor Adolf Hitler had intended to use the Games to showcase Aryan supremacy, thus the success of African-American Owens was particularly poignant. His success made him a famous figure, but back home in America segregation was still in place. After a ticker-tape parade for him in New York, he had to ride a separate elevator to reach a reception in his honour. It was often said that Hitler snubbed Owens at the Games, refusing to shake his hand, but whilst the racist Hitler was certainly displeased by Owens’s success, these stories may have been exaggerated. In fact, Owens maintains that it was US President Franklin D. Roosevelt who snubbed him, neglecting to congratulate the athlete for his success. Jesse Owens died in 1980 aged 66.
